What Time Does Superbowl XLIV Start?
Written by Chad Langen    Sunday, 07 February 2010 10:10    Print E-mail

gamesWhat time does Superbowl XLIV start? Are you guys reading for tonight's big game between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints? I sure am! I'm a huge Colts fan and just seeing them make it to the Superbowl is enough, but of course I would be thrilled if they beat the Saints.

So what time does Superbowl XLIV start? The starting time is 6:25 p.m. EST, in accordance with CBS, the network broadcasting the game. The big game will be held at Dolphin Stadium in Miami, Florida. Meanwhile, the network's major game coverage will begin at 6:00 p.m. EST.

The NFC Champion New Orleans Saints are making their first Super Bowl physical appearance, while the Colts franchise is making its fourth. The Colts are trying to find their second title in four years.

So which team are you guys rooting for? This is the first time in years that my favored team as made it to the Super Bowl. However, I know some of your favorite teams were beaten thus it's hard to settle on one of two teams, particularly if one of them is responsible for knocking your team out of the play-offs.

Status on 'Bioshock' Movie

bioshockStatus on 'Bioshock' movie. While the release of "Bioshock 2" is right around the corner, fans of the videogame are left wondering what the status is on the "Bioshock" movie adaptation that was promised quite sometime ago.

According to some sources, pre-production is currently on hold at the moment. "Pirates of the Carribean" director Gore Verbinski was on tap to direct the movie at one point and it was even announced in April that he had walked away from the "Pirates" franchise.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer was trying to get the team back together for a fourth "Pirates of the Carribean" entry, however, there has been no word as to whether or not Verbinski will be returning. If he doesn't, that leaves his slate wide open for a "Bioshock" movie.

So what's the good news in the midst of all this? There has been some talk that the reason Verbinski didn't want to return to the "Pirates" franchise was because of his continued work on the "Bioshock" adaptation. Lets hope this is true!

'Mass Effect 2' Ships 2 Million Copies
Written by Chad Langen    Wednesday, 03 February 2010 02:07    Print E-mail

masseffect'Mass Effect 2' ships 2 million copies. Owners of Microsoft's X-Box 360 have been eagerly awaiting the release of BioWare's highly-anticipated sequel to their smash-hit "Mass Effect". EA has announced that they have shipped more than two million copies of the role-playing shooter worldwide.

BioWare has packed "Mass Effect 2" with loads of goodies including tons of downloadable-content through its in-game Cerberus Network. Free for those who purchased the Xbox 360 and PC game new, the DLC currently includes a new crew member who can be recruited as well as a bonus mission. Down the road, BioWare has said that it will introduce new weapons like the M-22 Eviscerator Shotgun as well as the Hammerhead hover tank.

Look out "Halo"! The X-Box 360 may have a new title to compete with the reigning champion that has sold more copies than any other console title to date. We doubt "Mass Effect 2" will sell anything near what "Halo 3" did, but who knows? Maybe "Mass Effect 3" could pull it off.

Today, the publisher announced that Rosenwieg's term of service with the company has ended, with the executive moving on "to pursue other career oppurtunities."

Game Spot writes: Rosensweig took the helm of the Guitar Hero business as the music genre was beginning a precipitous decline. Despite a flood of releases, including Guitar Hero 5, Guitar Hero: Metallica, Guitar Hero: Van Halen, DJ Hero, Guitar Hero: Smash Hits, Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits, Band Hero, Rock Band: The Beatles, and Lego Rock Band, rhythm game sales were barely half what they were the year before.

Rosensweig's role at Activision will be filled by David Haddad, currently the COO of the "Guitar Hero" business unit. Before joining Activision, Haddad served as COO of Vivendi Games' Sierra Online division.
