CBS aired the fourth episode of the ninth season of their hit series and the number one television show in America, Two and a Half Men, Monday night. The episode is entitled Nine Magic Fingers and it centered on Walden (Ashton Kutcher) attempting to rebound from his recent separation by going on the hunt for Mrs. Right all the while Alan (Jon Cryer) seizes the opportunity to reconcile with Lyndsey (Courtney Thorne-Smith).
To kick things off, Berta come in from a morning run. She admits to enjoying her Malibu living. Alan is in a great mood as well since he has a second chance with his ex-girlfriend Lyndsey. Unfortunately for Walden, he's still spending his nights curling up in the fetal position and crying himself to sleep over Bridget.
Alan and Lyndsey enjoy a nice dinner. They've agreed that the less they talk to one another the more they're both going to enjoy their time.

The third episode of The Secret Circle is entitled Loner. The group realizes the effects of binding the Circle and Faye immediately regrets her decision to participate. Diana claims she had no clue that the effects of binding the Circle would be so drastic. Long story short, their powers are useless unless there are at least two members of the Circle present while a spell is being performed.
Somewhere during the episode, a cute athlete named Luke asks Cassie to the school dance. She's hesitant at first but watching Adam spend time with Diana at the boathouse, she takes him up on his offer. Meanwhile, Melissa sees the dance as a chance to get closer to Nick. The two have been messing around behind Faye's back worried she might snap. It started off as meaningless sex but Melissa quickly grows feelings for Nick.
Faye is the only one who has no plans for the dance. Instead, all of her focus is on finding a way to control her individual powers. While she's practicing, however, she's attacked by a man from her mother's past, Zachary Star. Cassie was also attacked by the same man causing the Circle to grow worried and curious at the same time. Zachary makes an attempt to kill Cassie at the dance at which point the Circle takes drastic measures to ensure their safety. Before everything is all said and done, Dawn and Charles wind up marking Zachary so the he will never get anywhere near them or their kids without them knowing. I have a feeling he'll be back at some point on the show. |

I have a confession to make. I completely forgot about The Secret Circle despite having been anxiously awaiting its arrival all summer long. Even worse is the fact that it debuted immediately after The Vampire Diaries which is one of my favorite shows currently on television. My plan was to catch the show's pilot during a late night re-run but much to my surprise, the CW didn't have one. Fortunately, I watched a ten minute preview for The Secret Circle's first episode a couple of months back which did an incredible job outlining the concept for the series. With that said, I wasn't too lost going into the show's second episode.
Kevin Williamson made a brilliant move bringing The Vampire Diaries to television. It's one of the CW's most popular shows to date and based on a series of books by L.J. Smith. Williamson obviously thought the network would experience the same success by bringing The Secret Circle, another book series by Smith to the small screen and so far, he appears to have been right. Not only are the two shows subjectively similar but they also air on the same night, back to back. Could pulling in a loyal audience be any easier?
The second episode of The Secret Circle is entitled Bound and rightfully so. In an effort to distance herself from the Circle and establish a normal teenage life in Chance Harbor, Cassie attempts to find a friend in Sally Matthews who is extremely involved in school activities and who isn't a witch. |

I like Dexter. The first time I watched this one-of-a-kind series was during the writer's strike a few years ago. CBS had nothing to put on television (nobody was writing anything new) and they made a brilliant move showing edited versions of Shotime's hit series Dexter to the general public. I can't say it had everyone interested but it certainly didn't take myself long to subscribe to the premium channel which is owned by CBS.?
Unfortunately, like every series, Dexter has had its ups and downs. Season 4 was arguably the best of any season, however, the fifth season was likely the worst. There was far too much pouting around from our favorite serial killer. I get it. Dexter lost his wife. It was a great twist but had I known it would have effected the story-line in the fifth season so drastically, I would have preferred it been left out.
In any case, I was a little hestitant going into the sixth season, particularly after seeing so many religious elements in the promos alone. Fortunately, the latest season takes the show back to its original roots and Dexter is now humerous and full of that odd energy that we can't put a finger on but have grown to miss over the span of a season. Read on for my recap of the sixth season premiere entitled Those Kinds of Things!

The season two finale for The CW's hit series The Vampire Diaries aired Thursday and to say it was good is a complete understatement. After last week's episode, I honestly didn't think Kevin Williamson and his team of writers could top it. Had I not known before hand that is was the second to last episode of season two, I would have been convinced early on that 'it was' the season finale.
For those of you who may have missed last week's episode, I'll give you a brief recap. Klaus prepares to sacrifice Elena as well as one vampire and one werewolf. Tyler Lockwood was suppose to be the chosen werewolf, however, Damon foils Klaus' plan. Tyler thanks Damon by taking a bite out of his arm. No worries. Klaus uses Tyler's mentor Jules instead. In addition, Caroline was suppose to meet her end at the hands (or should I say teeth?) of Klaus, but again, Damon comes to the rescue. Unfortunately, the innocent Jenna is put on the menu in her place and yes, she really does die this time.
Meanwhile, Elijah, Stefan, Bonnie and Alaric prepare to take Klaus out. At the very moment the curse of the moon is broken, Klaus will be at his weakest and that's when the group plans to strike. Elijah gives Stefan his word that he will kill Klaus even though the two are brothers. Of course, once Elijah has his hand on Klaus' heart (literally), Klaus manages to convince Elijah to let him live. Read on for more!

Who says we can't review a 10 minute feature? Tuesday marked the debut of the second part of the fifth episode in the popular web series Mortal Kombat: Legacy which is based on the best-selling videogame franchise and to be honest, I'm really starting to lose interest.
I really enjoyed the first two episodes in the series which is directed by Kevin Tancheroen who also directed the live-action short Mortal Kombat: Rebirth which has garnered over 10 million views on YouTube since its release. Now, however, the episodes seem to contain more animation than live-action. I mean, if I wanted animation, I'd just sit through the animated story segment at the beginning of most of the Mortal Kombat videogames.
Fortunately, the actual story is quite intriguing and the fight scenes in the live-action portions are very well choreographed for such a small budget. The actors are just meh, but that's expected considering they probably didn't get paid much at all for their work. Read on for more!
