E-mailIt's been rumored for quite some time that AMC planned to bring Martin Scorsese's Academy Award nominated mob flick Goodfellas to the small screen but the speculation is over. The television network is moving forward with the adaptation although no production schedule was given.
Nicholas Pileggi, who adapted his book Wiseguy into the screenplay for Goodfellas, is reportedly co-writing the pilot script with Jorge Zamacona. Irwin Winkler produced the motion picture and is on board the television show as executive producer alongside his son David Winkler. Warner Horizon Television will produce the series.
I'm anxious to see who will land roles in the new series. The 1990 motion picture starred Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. Stay tuned!
