Last Thursday marked the premiere of the third season of The CW's hit series The Vampire Diaries. Thankfully, I had the show set to record on my DVR from last season because I missed it and I didn't see a single rerun all week long. Unfortunately, The Secret Circle was a premiere I've been waiting to see for quite some time and that one I did not have set to record. Hopefully, they do a nice recap on tonight's episode to fill me in as I plan to watch the rest of the season religously.I don't know how they do it, but the writers for The Vampire Diaries are constantly twisting things up on the show. There are times where some events feel rather familiar but I have yet to lose interest. For instance, how many times can poor Caroline get captured and tortured? And as if the folks in Mystic Falls didn't have enough to deal with, Katherine is going to return to town at some point, according to reports.
I haven't been a huge fan of Katherine's character, however, I did enjoy her presence more toward the end of season two. It was kind of fun seeing her and the Salvatore brothers working together. This time, however, it doesn't look like she'll be as helpful. In fact, it looks like she'll only be returning to Mystic Falls to stir up more trouble. Kevin Williamson wouldn't say much but he did confirm that Katherine would be back later on this season. We'll keep you posted!
