Fans of The CW's action-drama Nikita can finally breathe as the network has renewed the show for a second season. I think a lot of us expected The CW to axe it after the network announced the renewals of shows like The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl and Supernatural and left Nikita out in the cold. That's The CW for you though, always keeping fans in panic until the last minute. For once, however, I'm one of the lucky ones. I've been on The Vampire Diaries' band-wagon since the show's debut and if I'm not mistaken, it's The CW's most successful show by a long shot meaning it'll be safe from the axe's blade for a few more years unless Kevin Williamson and the gang really screw things up.
One Tree Hill was also on the verge of being cut, however, it seems The CW renewed it at the last minute as well. Go figure! Back when I was a fan of the series, the end of each season was torture because I never knew if it would be coming back. I stopped watching toward the middle of season six due to my hectic schedule and I've never bothered catching up. Next season will mark the show's ninth season and I'm beginning to wonder if The CW will ever pull the plug. I suppose if it still continues to pull in enough viewers and The CW still continues to make enough money, it'll stick around.
