The CW recently revealed on their official blog that the final episode for their long-running teen-drama Smallville will air May 13th, 2011. The good news is that it will be two hours long. The bad news, of course, is that the show is coming to an end. I remember coming home from school and canceling any plans I had that evening to watch Smallville.

 

Ten years is a long ass time when you think about it. It doesn't seem all that long at first, but when I get to thinking, I was 12 when Smallville first debuted on the WB. I witnessed the merge of the WB and UPN. The outcome was The CW. I've seen numerous shows come and go over the years, yet Smallville stuck around. It takes a lot of dedication from the actors, the crew and the network to keep a television show around for one or two years let alone ten years. So with that I'd like to say thanks to everyone who put such heart into this one-of-a-kind television series. I will definitely be tuning in to the series finale to see what incredible surprises you have in store.
