| It's been rumored for quite some time that AMC planned to bring Martin Scorsese's Academy Award nominated mob flick Goodfellas to the small screen but the speculation is over. The television network is moving forward with the adaptation although no production schedule was given.
Nicholas Pileggi, who adapted his book Wiseguy into the screenplay for Goodfellas, is reportedly co-writing the pilot script with Jorge Zamacona. Irwin Winkler produced the motion picture and is on board the television show as executive producer alongside his son David Winkler. Warner Horizon Television will produce the series.
I'm anxious to see who will land roles in the new series. The 1990 motion picture starred Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. Stay tuned! |

The Vampire Diaries went on a long hiatus back in November but not before unleashing one of the most intense episodes from the series yet. There was a crazy showdown with vampire hunter, Michael and the seemingly unstoppable hybrid Klaus. Stefan was finally granted his freedom from Klaus' compulsion and now he's in a position to pull the strings. He's stolen the coffins holding the bodies of Klaus' family which as you can imagine, has Klaus enraged.
In the upcoming tenth episode of the show's third season which airs this Thursday (January 5th), Klaus uses violence to convey that no one will be safe in Mystic Falls until he gets his family back. The CW recently released a new photo from the episode entitled The New Deal and it features Klaus and Damon coming face to face with one another. You can read on for the photo and be sure to share yoru toughts! Is there going to be a violent showdown between the two or will they merely exchange some words? Find out Thursday!

We got our hands on a brand new image from The CW's hit series The Vampire Diaries. The photo comes from this season's seventh episode which airs next Thursday and it shows Damon being tortured by Mason. That's right! I did say Mason. Mason Lockwood, the werewolf we love to hate, has apparently returned from the dead and on top of his to-do list is making Damon suffer just like Damon made him suffer before killing him last season. You can read on to check out the photo and be sure to share your thoughts.
I'm really enjoying this season of The Vampire Diaries, however, I'm starting to notice things are getting a bit repetitive. Seriously, how many times can Caroline get captured and tortured? In addition, this isn't the first time Damon has been captured and tortured either. I think we're pretty much past the point of realism thus that gives the writers a perfect opportunity to step outside the box. While I do enjoy the constant twists, it's getting difficult to assume that when people are killed that they're really dead. What do you guys think?
You can catch The Vampire Diaries Thursdays on The CW!

So last night's episode of The Vampire Diaries was crazy, wasn't it? I mean it's undoubtedly one of the best episodes I've seen since the show debuted a couple of years back. Last night's episode marked the fifth episode of the third season which was entitled The Reckoning and I knew we were all in for a suspensful treat after Klaus discovered, during last week's episode, that Elena (the Doppleganger) was still alive.
In The Reckoning, Caroline is determined to see that Elena, Bonnie, Tyler and Matt all enjoy a traditional senior Prank Night before the school year begins at Mystic Falls High School. However, when uninvited guests show up, it doesn't take long for the evening to take a deadly turn. Damon convinces Jeremy that he can use his new connection to the other side to help find a way to defeat Klaus. Finally, Klaus deepens his hold on Stefan and uses him for increasingly violent and dangerous purposes.
Read on to check out my review for The Reckoning and be sure to chime in with your own thoughts!

Yeah, I was just as surprised as you guys (sarcasm). The CW has decided to give their new series The Secret Circle a full season. The show, which is based on a book series of the same name by author L.J. Smith, had a great premiere and has apparently held up strong since, according to reports.
Kevin Williamson is the man responsible for bringing The Secret Circle to television. Aside from writing the smash-hit Scream, you may also recognize the name as the guy behind The Vampire Diaries which is also a CW series and currently their most successful show. With The Secret Circle airing Thursday nights immediately after The Vampire Diaries, it was destined to be a hit from the start.
The Secret Circle follows Cassie, who moves from California to live with her grandmother in New Salem and falls in love with a mysterious boy named Adam. But, when she enrolls in high school there, she realizes that he, she and all the other elite students at the school are witches.

According to a recent report from Zap2it, a new actress has been cast on the CW's hit series The Vampire Diaries. Alice Evans has been brought on the series to portray Klaus' mother, Esther. Evans will appear in multiple episodes and in addition to Klaus, she is also the mother of Elijah and Rebekah. Esther will show up in episode 8. Of course, she isn't the only original coming to the scene. As we reported close to a month ago, several originals will make appearances through the third season.
At the moment, Stefan is still under Klaus' control though he's working on a plan to destroying the hybrid once and for all. He believes Klaus is on the run from a famous vampire hunter. At the same time, Damon is convinced that Jeremy can use his connection with the supernatural world to find Klaus' weakness.
The third season has been a thrill-ride since it premiered last month. Here's to hoping the writers can keep things interesting. With the arrival of some never-before-seen originals, I'd say they're on track to yet another successful season. Stay tuned! |

We just reported that Showtime's hit series Dexter is facing possible cancellation due to a salary disagreement between the network and the show's main star, Michael C. Hall. Now, it appears one of the longest running television shows in history, The Simpsons, could possibly be axed as well.
The six primary voice actors for Fox's hit series - Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer - are refusing to take an enormous 45% pay cut. The network has stated that if the actors don't take the decrease in pay, the show will be cancelled after its record-breaking 23rd year. Fox recently released the following statement:
"23 seasons in, The Simpsons is as creatively vibrant as ever and beloved by millions around the world. We believe this brilliant series can and should continue, but we cannot produce future seasons under its current financial model. We are hopefuly that we can reach an agreement with the voice cast that allows The Simpsons to go on entertaining audiences with original episodes for many years to come." Read on for more! |

There is currently a lot of talk going on over at Showtime regarding the possible cancellation of one of their most popular original series in history, Dexter. Michael C. Hall, the show's main star, is negotiating a new contract with the network since his current contract is up after this season which premiered Sunday night with a record 2.2 million viewers tuning in. That's a 24% increase over the Season 5 premiere.
According to reports, Showtime is offering Hall $20 million for two more seasons of Dexter, however, the actor is asking for $24 million for two seasons. Negotiations are still in the works but it doesn't appear that Showtime or Michael C. hall are going to give in very easily.
If you ask me, Michael C. Hall deserves a lot more than $24 million after everything he's been through. He already did six successful seasons under the same contract. Not to mention, there aren't too many actor out there who could portray a likeable serial killer and Hall not only does just that, but he makes it look easy. In addition, Showtime makes far more than $24 million from network subscribers to DVD sales. So yeah, I don't think he's asking for that much. What do you guys think? |

| Review: Two and a Half Men Season 9, Episode 3

A good sitcom is hard to come by these days. Perhaps that's the reason Two and a Half Men has experienced such success. While the jokes can get a bit predictable at times..well, most of the time, it's not a bad way to kill half an hour. This season has received quite a bit of mixed reviews. With Charlie Sheen out of the picture, viewers are still trying to decide if they like Ashton Kutcher. I've never watched Two and a Half Men on a weekly basis. I probably saw an episode a season at the most up until this season. Now, however, I'm hooked. I'm beginning to think Ashton Kutcher was destined to star on this show. Right now, his character, Walden, is like an 8-year-old child trapped in a 35-year-old's body. I'm not sure what the writers have in store for Walden as far as character development but I'm crossing my fingers they don't move too fast for his childish tendencies are still more than welcome on my television set.
Two and a Half Men is now in its ninth season and last night, CBS aired the third episode entitled Big Girls Don't Throw Food. Perhaps I was feeling like a kid myself or someone stuck laughing gas in my ventilation system but either way, I laughed throughout the entire episode. It wasn't just small chuckles under my breath either. I was laughing uncontrollably and to the point that I actually started choking on one occasion. It was during a scene involving Walden (Kutcher) and his ex-wife Bridget (Judy Greer). They were at a low-end, all-you-can-eat soup and salad restraunt. At one point, Walden is trying to convince Bridget that he can change his immature ways while at the same time he's having a food fight with a six-year-old girl sitting behind him. it was hysterical. |

| Kristin & Mark Eliminated On Dancing With the Stars

I don't watch Dancing With the Stars regularly. I tune in maybe three or four times each season just to see who the competitors are each year, who is left toward the middle of the season and of course, who the winners are each year. Last night, I found myself a bit bored thus I tuned in and it didn't take me long to remember why I wasn't a fan of the show.
As always, viewers were treated to a recap of the performances from the previous night. Chaz Bono was absolutely terrible. I remember seeing a video of his first performance on YouTube and he was atrocious there. Since I don't watch the show regularly, I can't be too harsh but from what I've seen of this season, he hasn't made any improvements. Somehow or another, he wasn't only safe this week, but he didn't even land in the bottom three.
Kristin Cavallari and Mark Ballas weren't so lucky. The two along with pairs Anna and Carson and Hope and Maksim were all in the bottom three this week. In the end, Kristen and Mark were the two sent packing. Thankfully, I won't have to tune in to the show until the finale which is quite a ways away. What did you guys think of last night's episode? |
