Avenged Sevenfold's 'The Rev' dead at 28. James Owen "Jimmy" Sullivan, also known as 'the Rev', was found dead in his Huntington Beach home on Monday. He was the drummer and did backup vocals for the Southern California heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold. Sullivan appears to have died of natural causes according to police reports. Considering he was only 28 years of age, there's speculation that drugs were involved.

Sullivan wasn't only known for his talents with Avenged Sevenfold. He also sang and played piano for a band called Pinkly Smooth. In addition, he also drummed for the band Suburban Legends. The musician will be missed by friends, fans and his family including his wife Leanna MacFadden.
