diarywhimpy'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' not wimpy at all! This is a motion picture I head absolutely nothing about until around a week before it hit theaters. Needless to say, 20th Century Fox released "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" this last Friday and while it didn't stick with some critics, the ones it did stick with, it stuck hard.

The film stars Zachary Gordon, Chloe Moretz, Steve Zahn, Rachael Harris, Robert Capron, Devon Bostick and Grayson Russell.

None of the staff at Reel Empire has had the chance to see "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" yet, so we're merely forming a temporary opinion off of what top film critics in the industry have stated.

Ty Burr from the Boston Globe was far from please with the film stating, "I get it, I get it -- redemption and life lessons await. But they're awfully slow in coming and half-hearted when they appear, and by then we've lost patience." Roger Ebert from the Chicago Sun-Times, on the other hand, disagreed entirely saying, "nimble, bright and funny. It doesn't dumb down. It doesn't patronize. It knows something about human nature?"

Do you agree with either of the above critics? Let us know!
