'Hurt Locker' wins best screenplay! Yes, that's two for me! Okay, so I'm a little excited, but a few days back, Adam Azoulay and myself posted our predictions for the 82nd Annual Academy Awards and so far, my predictions have become reality.
I guess congratulations are in order for Mark Boal who wrote the screenplay for "The Hurt Locker" as he will be taking home the golden statute for winning the Academy Award for 'Best Original Screenplay'. "The Hurt Locker" is up for nominations in several categories including 'Best Picture'. Unfortunately, while it's going to be a very close one between "Avatar" and "The Hurt Locker", my gut is telling me the blue people will be victorious.
Other nominees in the category of 'Best Original Screenplay' were Quentin Tarantino ("Inglorious Basterds"), Alessandro Camon & Oren Moverman ("The Messenger"), Joel Coen & Ethan Coen ("A Serious Man") and Bob Peterson & Pete Docter ("Up").
