'Jersey Shore' ratings continue to soar. MTV's new controversial series "Jersey Shore" landed its best ratings yet on January 7th. The hit reality series pulled in over 3.2 million viewers, a series high, and was Thursday's number one cable telecast among people between the ages of 12-34. The show is up more than 200 percent versus last week's telecast and is also up to 68 percent versus its season-to-date average in the younger demographic. The show, which critics claim builds on negative stereotypes and bad behavior, follows a group of youngsters renting a beach house at the Jersey Shore.
The state of New Jersey has worked hard in trying to ban the series as they believe it gives the state a band name. However, they've had no luck at this time.
