Inside Justin Bieber's horrid VMA speech. Okay everyone, I want to apologize for the lack of updates around here. Our Editor-in-Chief, Chad Langen, has been on vacation and the wi-fi available at the hotel he was staying at was having serious issues. The good news is he's back so you can all expect dozens of updates throughout the day. A lot of those updates will include posts related to the 2010 Video Music Awards. Yeah, we're a little late to cover it, but there are some things that need to be said and one of them involves Justin Bieber's acceptance speech (which was absolutely awful) for Best New Artist.
First and foremost, I don't think Justin should have won the title for Best New Artist. To me, he sounds like a recycled version of Justin Timberlake. You know, back when all of his songs were created in a hit-making factory? The title, in my opinion, should have gone to Jason Derulo. Considering the artist were nominated for particular songs they released, Jason's video for "In My Head" was far more stylish than Justin's "Baby" video.
I know a lot of our female readers aren't going to care to continue reading, but for those of you who are wondering why we believe Justin's acceptance speech was awful, read on!
From the moment Justin was announced as Best New Artist, he had 'SPOILED BRAT' stamped across his forehead. He didn't seem to know where the stage was and as he tried to make his way to his award, he ignored everyone standing by congratulating him.
Finally, after struggling to find the stage, Justin practically snatched his award. To be honest, I was surprised he actually thanked Usher for being his mentor. If you were watching closely when Bieber rose from his chair after his name was annnounced, Ludacris was sitting right behind him in the audience. He didn't even think to shake his hand or thank him during his speech for his help on his track "Baby." I'm sorry, but Ludacris' portion of the track is what pulled in a wider audience than Bieber's standard 4 to 14 year-old female fanbase thus the least he could've done is given him a shout out.
Okay, I know by this point, many of our readers are enraged with me. A lot of you guys are fans of Justin Bieber, but before you start posting hateful comments, you need to take into consideration that Justin didn't even thank his fans during his speech. 30 Seconds to Mars, Lady Gaga and every other artist who accepted an award thanked their fans above everyone. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Justin Bieber fan. Yes, his music comes off as a bit over-produced at times, but he's got talent. Nevertheless, no artist makes it big in the industry without their fans buying their albums, concert tickets, etc. thus the least they could do is thank them. What do you guys think?
