James Cameron directing 'Avatar' 2 & 3. Considering "Avatar" is now the highest grossing motion picture of all time, it's no surprise 20th Century Fox was pushing director James Cameron to direct another installment. It was announced today that Cameron struck a very profitable deal with the studio and is now on board to direct not only "Avatar 2" but also a third installment. The two films are set to be released a year apart with the second film hitting theaters December 2014 and the third December 2015.

Yeah, "Avatar" is the highest grossing movie of all time, but I just can't see the sequels doing as well as the first. I think "Avatar" was released at just the right time and thanks to word of mouth from audiences, it sky-rocketed and remained at the top of box-office charts for several weeks. If James Cameron can pull it off again, then my hat's off to him. Like I said though, I don't see lightning striking the same place twice.

What do you guys think? Will you be hitting the multiplex for the "Avatar" sequels? Let us know!
