5th 'Final Destination' film a go, will it be the final? One thing I've learned while watching movies is to never trust anybody (studio, director, actor, etc.) when they say a particular sequel will be 'final' because chances are, it won't be. In this case, the "Scream" franchise is a perfect example. "Scream 3" was purportedly the cap on the successful trilogy. Fast forward ten years later, however, and a fourth movie has been greenlit.
"The Final Destination" was originally suppose to be the final entry in New Line's wildly successful series, but that's just it, the money came pooring in during the movie's theatircal run thus the studio isn't ready to call it quits with the gruesome franchise just yet. In fact, studio exec Alan Horn announced at ShoWest that a fifth movie was indeed in the works.
There's no word at this point whether franchise stalwarts Glen Morgan, James Wong or David R. Ellis are aboard the project, however, there's already heavy talk that the film will be shot in 3D just like its predecessor.
So will the fifth movie be a reboot, a prequel or just another sequel? It's not known at this time but we'll keep you posted as soon as we know more.
