The three frontrunners for Captain America are...Heat Vision is reporting that Chris Evans ("Fantastic Four") has been offered to play "Captain America". Like many of the studio deals with actors portraying characters in Marvel's comic-book adaptations, Evans would have to sign on for multiple "Captain America" pictures as well as spin-offs such as "The Avengers".

Personally, while I like Chris Evans, he's already played a comic-book character. Doesn't anyone remember the "Human Torch" from "Fantastic Four" and it's appalling sequel? I think it's time for some new blood and Channing Tatum is the perfect cantidate. I know, the reports have been endless in regard to who will be filling the shoes of one of the most iconic superheroes in the comic-book universe. We've heard rumor after rumor, but fortunately, it's down to three contendors and they are Chris Evans, Channing Tatum and Sebastian Stan ("Gossip Girl").

Channing Tatum was reportedly already offered the role and since it's being reported that Chris Evans has been offered the role, it looks like Tatum must've passed. What the hell were you thinking Channing? This is your chance to finally break into the industry and get the credentials you deserve.
