'Avatar 2' already in pre-production. While James Cameron's sci-fi epic is still dominating at the box office, that reportedly hasn't stopped pre-production from already beginning on "Avatar 2". We've been hearing the rumors for weeks now and even Cameron revealed his plans for a sequel while promoting the film on shows like NBC's "The Jay Leno Show". Now, it looks like we no longer have to hold our breath. Not like we had to anyway once the film passed the $500 million mark.

A source for Slash Film reports that technical crew members are now being hired for the picture and being made to sign three-to-five year deals.

Of course, it's not as if we didn't see this coming. "Avatar" has become the highest grossing film of all time which undoubtedly has something to do with 20th Century Fox's decision to move forward with a sequel. Why not capitalize on "Avatar" while it's still hot?
