No Sam Raimi or Tobey Maguire in 'Spider-Man 4'. What the hell? According to Entertainment Weekly, Sony's long anticipated "Spider-Man 4" has gotten rid of the franchise's main star, Tobey Maguire and director, Sam Raimi. It's being reported that Maguire and Raimi will not be back for the fourth installment. This news came after seven weeks of Sam Raimi arguing with Sony Pictures. There are no reports as to who will replace the two.
Sony Pictures is now going to move forward with a new filmmaking team for "Spider-Man 4", including a different script by James Vanderbilt, which will put Spider-Man back in high school. Raimi made the following statement, "Working on the 'Spider-Man' movies was the experience of a lifetime for me.
Well, I can't say that Sony will be making near as much money on the fourth film as previous installments. "Spider-Man" just isn't going to be the same without Raimi and definitely without Tobey. What do you guys think?
