This came as some unexpected news, particularly on such a slow day for industry updates. Apparently "Whip It!" director Drew Barrymore was on the shortlist to direct the third installment in Summit Entertainment's vampire saga titled "Twilight: Eclipse". Barrymore said she was glad to have turned down the oppurtunity as she had issues with the script. “Timing-wise, I’m glad that it didn’t work out and everything I think happens for whatever reason it’s supposed to,” she said. To be honest, I'm glad she turned down the project as well. David Slade did an incredible job directing "30 Days of Night", another vampire flick thus he already had experience in the department of blood-suckers.
