Over the past few years, movie remakes have practically become a trend. And no genre is known more for their makeovers than the horror genre. And really, how many of these films were actually good? Take a look at our 'Top 5: Worst Horror Movie Remakes".
When A Stranger Calls
This movie wasn't even scary and the fact that the leading lady can't even scream just makes matter even worse. The entire film is about a babysitter running around a large house begging a voice not to kill her and the children she's watching. There are a few attempted scares toward the end, but you guessed it, the writers failed miserably.
Psycho
The biggest mistake here was the the filmmakers actually thought they could make a movie just as good as the original "Psycho" if not better. Boy, did they get a rude awakening. Vince Vaughn does a horrible job as Norman Bates and the fact that there's actually a scene where he's masterbating pretty much kills the entire flick.
The Fog
Lets be realistic. John Carpenter's original film wasn't what most of us would call good. So why even remake the damn movie? Perhaps the filmmakers just wanted to embarrass themselves. Well, mission accomplished. This film is a total bore. And the pirates are more funny than they are scary.
Prom Night
The entire hour and a half runtime of this movie revolves around the main character looking at herself in the mirror. No joke. The most entertainment aspect of the entire movie is counting how many times Brittany Snow gets scared by her reflection. That and how many times the characters trip while trying to run from the killer.
The Grudge
Now this film pissed me off, plain and simple. For one, it was an awful movie. Second, it actually had a huge box office run. And why? Because viewers though they were walking into a remake of "The Ring". But lets face it, horror buffs aren't easily frightened by a little Asian kid who sounds like a dying cat.
