'Dear John' Familiar but Tear-Jerking

dearjohn'Dear John' familiar but tear-jerking. Screen Gems new drama titled "Dear John" arrived in theaters yesterday and stars: Channing Tatum, Amanda Seyfried, Henry Thomas, Richard Jenkins and Keith Robinson. Overall, the film received below average reviews from top movie critics, getting grades of mostly Ds and Cs across the board.

Janice Page over at the Boston Globe gave "Dear John" a C grade. She said, it "Sparks of familiarity in this tear-jerker." Meanwhile, Roger Ebert from the Chicago-Sun Times  gave it a C grade as well saying, it "tells the heartbreaking story of two lovely young people who fail to find happiness together because they're trapped in an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks novel."
