When Sam and Dean Winchester were just kids, their mother was horribly murdered in front of their father by something "supernatural". Their lives were never the same again. After their mother's murder, their father took an interest in the supernatural and the unexplained and raised the boys as warriors with skills to fight back against the unknown and protect the innocent. 22 years later, with Sam and Dean grown up, their father suddenly disappears on a suppose routine supernatural hunt. Sam and Dean search for their father and along the way help anyone with a supernatural problem with the help from their dad's journal that contains most of his knowledge about the supernatural that he had accumulated over his 22 years of none-stop obsessive hunting.

Review: Season 3
Though it may not be television’s most original presentation, “Supernatural”, even in its third season, has more thrills and bloody goodness than even shows on the ScyFy channel have to offer. The real success behind this haunting series created by Eric Kripke are the characters and the actors that bring them to life. Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are wonderful in the shoes of Winchester brothers Sam and Dean. Convincing, witty and definite eye-candy for the ladies, it’s no wonder the show’s fan base continues to grow.
The third time around, the yellow-eyed demon is vanquished, but at a terrible price. The battle that brought him down released hundreds of demons from Hell into an unsuspecting world. And it cost Sam his life. But a grief-stricken Dean made a deal with the Crossroad Demon- his soul for Sam’s resurrection. Now Dean has just one year to live. One year to fight the unholy, the twisted, the ghoulish. One year to say farewell to his brother Sam. And one year for Sam to search desperately for some way to save him.
If you’ve seen The CW’s “Smallville”, a drama outlining the teen years of legendary superhero Superman, then you’re aware of just how many episodes seem like duplicates of others. Such a problem exist with “Supernatural”. The first season was absolutely brilliant. The second was damn good, but it seemed a bit light in comparison to the previous season. In season three, it’s obvious the writers struggled with several episodes as many of the supernatural beings seem to reflect those of previous episodes. Even some of the plot-lines seem derived. Nevertheless, fans of “Supernatural” will still find plenty of room for enjoyment as Sam and Dean grow closer to learning they’re true purpose in life.
