Review: Season 1
Leverage is the best show on TNT, maybe even the best new show to come along in quite some time. The show is about a band of thieves who kind of become modern day robin hoods...or robbing hoods. The series has an outstandin cast, led by Academy Award Winner Timothy Hutton. But like all great shows, there is more than just one central character.
Gina Bellman is very good as "grifter" Sophie Devereaux as she has a new persona every week. Aldis Hodge provides the "tech guy" Alec Hardison, and is very funny in relief. Beth Riesgraf plays a bland personality in "thief" Parker, but Parker slowly develops into a much friendlier person. But while the show may center around Hutton's Nathan Ford, the real talent of the show lies in Christian Kane, who plays "hitter" Elliot Spencer, a role that suits Kane perfectly.
The entire cast seems to have great chemistry from the get-go and combines it with great writing. The show kind of seems like a modern adaptation of The A-Team and Mission Impossible, with a little bit of Ocean's Eleven and It Takes a Thief thrown in. Mix it all up and you get one very good show with loads of potential that it is already starting to realize. I honestly have nothing but praise for this show that i am fast becoming a fan of. That being said... There needs to be more episodes!!!
