"That's the thing i love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age, yes they do...yes they do". These were the famous words uttered by Matthew McConaughey's David Wooderson in his first big screen release, 'Dazed and Confused'. 'Dazed' did more than just kick-start McConaughey's career though, it also provided a 2 hour peek into the 1970's, oh how they must've been great times, while also giving us early glimpses at future stars such as Ben Affleck, Milla Jovovich, Joey Lauren Adams, Parker Posey, Jason London, Cole Hauser, and Adam Goldberg. Okay so maybe they didn't ALL become big stars, but they are all great in this movie.

The story centers around mainly 2 people, Randall "Pink" Floyd, a star quarterback who is still deciding what he wants to do for his senior season and Mitch Kramer, a freshman who is trying to avoid the traditional senior ass whipping. The movie is loaded with classic moments, such as McConaughey's signature line and Kramer's slow motion beating, and has been referenced by Family Guy and Shaun of the Dead. While most people consider this a 90's attempt at Fast Times at Ridgemont High, it is far from being considered a "Fast Times" clone. Although they are both teen comedy/drama classics, "Dazed" stands by itself as being one of, if not the best teen comedy/drama of the 90's. Also, i just love the tagline: It was a time they'd never forget...If only they could remember.

As of this article being published, this movie is 13 years old... and its just as funny today as it would've been in 1993 or 1976. That is the definition of a timeless movie. Also since this movie is 13 years old, its price has gone down substantially. I got it in the bargain bin at FYE for only 5 bucks, but i would've paid brand new price, because that's how good this movie is. Hopefully, you readers will follow my suggestion and go out and watch this movie, because you're really missing out on a classic if you haven't seen it.
