From the director of “The Crow” and “Dark City” comes “Knowing”, an intriguing and unpredictable thriller that’ll have viewers glued to their seats. While there’s definitely a handful of obvious plot-holes and a few other minor flaws, for the most part, director Alex Proyas and actor Nicolas Cage deliver an innovative sci-fi presentation unlike anything we’ve seen in years. The spectacle is tremendous consisting of realistic catastrophes including a disturbing plane crash that’s sure to make viewers think twice before boarding a plane.

Cage is an actor in which we never know what to expect. Considering he’s an Academy Award winner (“Leaving Las Vegas”), the guy’s obviously equipped with talent even if he fails to use it in many of his projects. In “Knowing”, the actor doesn’t give us a solid effort, yet he’s convincing and that’s really all we can ask for, particularly in a picture of this genre.

A visually stunning, cleverly crafted thriller, “Knowing” is a solid genre effort. It’s one of the most unique presentations I’ve seen in years and it’s sure to leave viewers pleased.
